COMPETITIVE CHEER

The mission of Win Athletics is to provide an environment of excellence. Win Athletics puts the athlete in a position to excel while instilling hard work, accountability, competition, and community. We aim to inspire everyone to be fully committed to setting a standard of excellence!

Elite cheerleading is a highly competitive sport activity that combines elements of tumbling, dance, stunting, and traditional cheerleading skills such as jumps and arm motions. Athletes perform to fast paced, exciting, and professionally choreographed 2½ minute routines set to music. Elite teams compete against other teams or gyms from across the country between November and April each year! Teams are comprised of select groups of individuals of all ages from seniors and below.

Teams are set up by age-group and skill.  For a general rule of thumb:

  • Mini Level teams consist of ages 5-8 years old.

  • Youth Level teams consist of ages 5-11 years old.

  • Junior Level teams consist of members 8-15 years old.

  • Senior Level teams consist of ages 12-18 years old.

  • Senior Worlds Division teams consist of ages 13-18 years old.

Athletes can compete at 6 difficulty levels ranging from level 1 for beginners, up to level 6 for athletes with advanced skills. Our training goal is to help kids progress through all 6 levels in a safe and confident manner.  It is normal and recommended for athletes to do more than one year on a level to be successful and well rounded.

TEAM EVALUATIONS

Rather than a traditional tryout format that a school might use, we use evaluations to create teams. These evaluations are weighted heavily on tumbling as we will expect you to have all of the required skills for a level in order to be placed on that level-specific team. Although most athletes are placed according to tumbling levels, there are exceptions to the rule. Role players come in handy if the tumbling isn’t there, such as: strong bases, dancers, jumpers, or flexible flyers. Prepare to show all of your best skills so we know what your strengths are! If you are unsure what level you fall in, check out our tumble skills chart as a start to match your skills to your appropriate level.

COMMITTMENT

Commitment starts with the parent and follows through to the athlete. It is a privilege to be a member of the Jewels Elite Cheer Team. The success of the team will depend on each individual parent and athlete's commitment and dedication to the team. Practice is extremely important and gives your athletes the opportunity for the best outcomes and results. Every member is equally valuable to the team. It definitely takes a TEAM to win!

FULL YEAR SEASON (TRAVEL)

Team Placements for full-year teams take place in the fall. The full-year season runs August - May (placements in August).

These teams consist of more of the advanced athletes who typically train three or more days a week. Team packets are available online under forms.

HALF YEAR/PREP SEASON (N0N-TRAVEL)

These teams consist of athletes that want to experience an Elite competition season for a short amount of time. Seasons are 6 months and they typically train twice a week for a total of (5) hours. Prep teams typically do not travel and have a much lower expense cost.  This is the perfect opportunity to try out the All Star World or for the family that wants a shorter yearly commitment.

All funds raised will go towards the Jewels Elite team to provide scholarships and cover individual expenses associated with the program such as uniforms, competition fees, travel fees, equipment, supplies, camps and training clinics for the entire season. Members are encouraged to reach out to individuals as well as area businesses that they, their families and friends patronize to obtain sponsorships or donations in support of the team.
